Gourmet treats beat gloomy weather

How do you offset this month’s gloomy weather? You eat sumptuous comfort food. 

Quezon City-based Eastwood Richmonde Hotel serves full meals and filling snacks that promise to brighten the day and lighten the mood at Eastwood Café+Bar.

SUMPTUOUS SERVING. Eastwood Café+Bar offers Steak Diane in café de Paris sauce for its Sizzlin’ Chef’s Specials this August.

Ongoing until Aug. 31, the Sizzlin’ Chef’s Specials offers mouth-watering set meals and a bit of artsy flambé cooking by tableside. Main entrées include Steak Diane in café de Paris sauce, pan-seared Norwegian salmon in lemon orange glaze, prawns in bisque sauce, and marinated chicken fillet in madeira sauce. 

Each main  comes with a homemade Caesar salad, potato and corn chowder soup, and El Fuego Dulce or vanilla butter cake with toffee apple filling topped with torched merengue and vanilla ice cream. 

Classic Italian Pizza

During late afternoon stuck indoors, Eastwood Café+Bar has Afternoon Tea Time, served from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Included in the package are assorted pastries, native delicacies, and open-faced sandwiches, served with a steaming pot of Pure Green, English Breakfast, or Earl Grey Twinings tea. 

Prawns in bisque sauce

Comfort food comes in the form of 12-inch Classic Italian Pizza topped with mozzarella, tomato, garlic, and basil. Diners may opt to personalize their pie with add-ons like pepperoni, bacon, ham, Hungarian sausage, black olive, button mushroom, bell pepper, cheese, anchovy, onion, and fresh tomato for an additional fee. 

The Afternoon Tea Time package comes with assorted pastries, native delicacies, and open-faced sandwiches, served with a pot of hot tea. 

For rainy weekends, the café and bar’s Fizz & Crackles, served from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. all Fridays and Saturdays of August and September, offers bottomless drink choices of San Miguel Pale Pilsen, San Miguel Beer Light, Smirnoff Mule, Andy Cola, and Raffa Sparkling Wine as well as crunchy munchies at the mini buffet.
