American fashion label Guess has been a pop culture mainstay for 37 years what with its omnipresent triangular logo, distinguishable campaigns, and iconic models. And as a purveyor of streetwear and fun, youth-inspired apparel, the brand celebrated its place in Philippine fashion with an interactive exhibit.
Dubbed the Art of Guess, the exhibit, held on July 27 to 29 at Whitespace Manila, featured creations exclusively designed by young Filipino graphic designers, illustrators, and mural artists.
As a multi-sensory fashion and art experience, the three-day event had seven uniquely interactive booths that fed all senses.
Custom denim jackets by Anna Bautista, Anina Rubo, Alessanda Lanot, Jessica Yang, Monica Magsanoc, Steph Alvarez, Kara Pangilinan, Lee Cases, Soleil Ignacio, and Raxenne Maniquiz were displayed at the Denim Jacket exhibit.
Meanwhile, mural artists Archie Oclos, Dee Jae Paeste, and Anjo Bolarda incorporated the classic Guess denim designs into their artworks.
Each of the artists combined their signature art aesthetic with the brand’s classic, iconic style.
The exhibited pieces were sold via a silent auction. All auction proceeds will be donated to World Vision, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of unprivileged families.
Guests were also treated to a Guess fashion film showing featuring the trendiest Filipino looks directed by John Lozano.
“Everybody knows what Guess is all about. We all grew up with it so we know that it is cool and sexy. Most importantly, Guess speaks the language of our generation,” Lozano said before he unveiled his film.
Aside from the exhibit and the presentation of a fashion film, attendees and art enthusiasts were also encouraged to customize denim tote bags at the Denim Workshop station, take photos at the kaleidoscopic photo booth, and check out the summer 2018 collection line, which consists of trendy two-piece sets, sundresses, classic logo tees, and button-down tops, at the Guess Merchandise exhibit
The Art of Guess nights were also filled with musical performances by local artists such as She’s Only Sixteen, Keiko Necesario, Oh Flamingo!, Dante and Amigo, Saint Guel, and Kremesoda.
Guests seen at the event included Carla Humphries, Dionne Mansanto, Jess Wilson, Ava Daza, Kim Cruz, Angela Martinez, Vina Guerrero, Michelle Dy, Angel Dei, Chelsea Robato, KC Del Rosario, and Ria Atayde, who were wearing fun, sexy, adventurous, Guess #OOTDs.
Mond Gutierrez, Will Devaughn, Luke Jickain, Lharby Policarpio, David Guison, Deegee Razon, Kerwin King, and Christian Busby likewise rocked the night in Guess street style looks.
