Duterte warns Kadamay group

President Rodrigo Duterte warned all members of Kadamay from taking over vacant government housing projects or risked facing the full extent of the law, according to Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque.

Roque also said the President had directed the Philippine National Police to stop members of the urban poor group from occupying the socialized housing units of the National Housing Authority.

The directive was made following the failed attempt by  Kadamay members to occupy another housing project intended for police and military in Rizal province.

Last year, members of Kadamay forcibly occupied an idle NHA housing site intended for soldiers in Pandi, Bulacan.

But the President allowed the Kadamay members to stay in their occupied units.

Roque gave assurances this incident would not be repeated, saying “this would be the first and the last.”

The President would no longer allow a repeat of Bulacan incident as he issued a stern warning that they would have to deal with the full extent of the law.

“The role of the President is to implement the law, he will implement the law,” he said.
