Senator Loren Legarda, chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, has assured the public of the passage of the proposed P 1.16-billion supplemental budget to fund the health assistance of individuals administered with the Dengvaxia vaccine and vowed it would be the “first agenda” when session resumes in July.
“Just the same, she vowed to take this up as the first agenda when we resume our session after the State of the Nation Address [Sona] in July,” said Legarda.
The senator issued the statement after the Senate adjourned its session early Thursday morning without taking up the measure.
Despite this temporary setback, Senator JV Ejercito vowed to work doubly hard to ensure its immediate approval when we return starting July for the 3rd Regular Session of the 17th Congress.
“I am very dismayed that the Senate failed to approve the measure I introduced appropriating P1.16 billion for 2018 intended for the protection and welfare of children who received Dengvaxia vaccines,” Ejercito said.
