PDEA, PNP clears 56 NV villages of illegal drugs

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—The Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority and the Philippine National Police recently declared at least 56 barangays of the province as drug-cleared and free.

The declared drug-free barangays are Dulli, Camandag and Labang in Ambaguio town; Ansipsip, Alang Salacsac, Amelong Labeng, Banao, Balete, Besong, Buaysyas, Cabalatan, Alang, Cabayao, Cabanglasan, Lawigan, Talecabcab, Tidang Village and Tubungan in Kayapa town; Buayasyas, Imugan and Malico in Sta. Fe town and Bonifacio and Maasin in Quezon town.

The drug-cleared barangays are Baresbes, Dagupan and Nalubbunan in Quezon town: Bacneng in Sta. Fe town; Ganao, Kanabuan and Sta. Maria in Dupax del Sur town and Balangabang and Latbang in Kayapa town.

Lala Tomas, PDEA public information officer said the 56 barangays which are declared either drug-cleared and free represents 19.6 or 20 percent rate of neutralized barangays in the province.

She said Nueva Vizcaya is host to 198 affected out of its 275 barangays.

Governor Carlos Padilla praised the PNP and PDEA for their latest accomplishment in support of the Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“We do no mind hosting a daily program of the PNP and PDEA because you are achieving the objectives of the Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign. Congratulations for a job well done,” he said during a program at the People’s Stage.

The declaration of drug-cleared and free barangays was made by PDEA regional director Emerson Rosales and witnessed by Governor Carlos Padilla, PNP Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Police Chief Supt. Petroneli Baldebrin, PNP Provincial Director Jeremias Aglugub, Provincial Administrator Maybelle Dumlao-Sevillena, municipal mayors Alberto Bumolo of Kasibu, Arnold Dinungon of Ambaguio, Dolores Binwag of Quezon, Liwayway Caramat of Sta. Fe, Ruben Basconcillo of Dupax del Sur, Paul Ligmayo of Kayapa and their respective barangay officials, including officials of the Department of Interior and Local Government and Department of Health.
