Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista recently led the launch of the “Biyaya ng Pagbabago” caravan roll-out in Metro Manila, promoting the national government’s programs for poverty alleviation.
During the opening, Bautista said that through the caravan, President Rodrigo Duterte’s drive to prioritize public welfare was unleashed.
“Here, we see the true objective of the President to look after the welfare of the people,” he said.
At least 12 agencies under the Office of the President, Office of the Participatory Government, Office of the Cabinet Secretary, and representatives from various local government units in the National Capital Region participated in the caravan.
Bautista said the government’s services on poverty alleviation were gathered to collectively provide benefits to the people.
Instead of going from one office to another, through the program, the offices are gathered and will now be available to the people to their convenience.
First launched in Davao, the “Biyaya ng Pagbabago Tungo sa Masagana at Matiwasay na Buhay Pilipino” is in line with the administration’s vision to reduce the poverty level from 21.6 percent to 14 percent by 2022.
