This corner features pets of animal lovers every week. We hope new owners and those thinking of getting a pet will be encouraged to be responsible “furparents” through these features. We also hope more people will be moved to be kind to animals when they read about the great relationship that can be created between humans and animals.

MIKEE is the oldest dog of Dee Yojz. She is now 13 years old.
Of her five dogs Dee says Mikee is “pinakamasungit” probably because she is a spinster.
But she is also the sweetest doggy who hugs her leg when she arrives from work, Dee adds.
Mikee would stay there hugging Dee’s leg even when Dee is already walking, Dee says. Mikee will only stop when Dee bends down to kiss Mikee.
GEOM-EUN is Maureen Gaddi dela Cruz’ cat in Cotabato City
“Geom-eun is a "community cat" who lives in an apartment compound. I moved into that compound when I relocated from Manila for work, and was giving food to the resident cats when I noticed that the gentle, timid black cat wasn't getting any food and was being bullied by larger cats. I coaxed him into my apartment and started feeding him there regularly, “Maureen recalls.
“He is now much healthier than before, and has become really sweet and friendly to me. He's still shy around other humans and his fellow cats, though, often disappearing into the shadows when unfamiliar figures arrive, “ Maureen adds.
“But when I arrive home from the office, he comes running and rubs up against my legs. He still has to sleep outside and remain semi-feral, though, because I travel frequently for work and I live alone so there's nobody to take care of him when I'm away. His name is the Korean word for ‘black,” Maureen says.
Mykee is Juvy Gojo Vruz’ furbaby. “I love this doggy to bits,” she says.
