The eastern part of Metro Manila gets a slice of the “super” shopping experience as fast-growing membership superstore Landers opens its fifth branch in ArcoVia City, Pasig, a little over a month since it has opened in Alabang West.
As one of the first establishments to open in Megaworld Corporation’s 12.3-hectare township, Landers aims to be the go-to store for household items and imported and hard-to-find goods of future ArcoVia City dwellers and current residents in neighboring communities.
“Those living in Valle Verde and nearby villages are very happy that we are here,” Landers Superstore marketing director Pinky Angodung told Manila Standard. “Even those in the central Pasig area and those in Taguig area now have access to us because we are very near them.”
“We really feel that it’s a captured market,” she added.
The 8,000-square meter superstore offers members the same finds available in all its other branches, particularly top-notch imported goods that can’t be easily found in regular supermarkets as well as popular and high-quality local brands.
Sitting side by side on shelves are huge tubs of Skippy peanut butter and Lily’s peanut butter, Pop Tarts and Lotte’s Choco Pie, Milo breakfast cereals and Oreo O’s, Spam and Delimondo, and Sriracha and Silver Swan soy sauce, among many others. The store’s freezers, meanwhile, are filled with imported ice cream and gelato brands such as Siviero Maria, as well as tubs of Carmen’s Best ice cream and bottles of Holly’s 100% Premium Farm Fresh Milk, among other dairy and non-dairy products and frozen goods.
Aside from pantry items, Landers also offers baked goods—courtesy of its in-house bakeshop Dough & Co.—fresh produce, seafood, meats, poultry products, organic food, toiletries, and other household essentials.
Other products available in store include home items (bed sheets and blankets, pillows, plastic organizers, carpets and rugs, trash bins), outdoor essentials (barbecue grills and benches), appliances (televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners), kitchen tools and utensils, luggage and other travel items, toys, sports and fitness equipment, first-aid kits and health supplements, and indoor plants and succulents.
Bringing such a wide variety of products, Angodung said, was a strategy of the company in a bid to “marry the supermarket and membership shopping one.”
“[Members] don’t need to go to the supermarket and then come here. They can come here and get all their daily essential needs,” said the Landers official.
In addition to “the usual” goods on offer, Angodung said Landers ArcoVia City features products available only in the branch—same as in the Alabang West outlet. For instance, the newly opened superstore offers Buy 1 Take promotions on selected television brands, discounts on some items, and other opening sale markdowns until May 1.
“We’ve made sure that shoppers will be able to find something new here,” shared Angodung.
She continued, “We want to show members, especially those who have been to other branches, that products on offer at all Landers are not exactly the same. We will come out with new products so when they go around, they will see new items in each branch.”
A few products and promotions may be exclusive to the ArcoVia branch, but it provides the same experience as other Landers with its dining outlets: the New York diner-inspired Landers Central that offer pizzas, hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, fried chicken, and refillable drinks; and in-house coffee shop Doppio. It also provides free haircut to members at Federal Barbers and fuel discounts of P1.50 off per liter of diesel and P2 off per liter of gasoline.
In celebration of its opening, Landers ArcoVia City is currently offering 50 percent discount on new membership as well as bigger fuel discounts—P7 off per liter of gasoline and P3.50 off per liter of diesel—until May 1. To become a member, simply head straight to its membership booth in store or apply online at www.landers.ph.
Landers Superstore ArcoVia City is located at E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue, Brgy. Ugong, Pasig City. Its other branches are located in Balintawak, Quezon City; in Paco, Manila; in Alabang West, Las Piñas City; and in Cebu.
