This new shared services center, together with the one in Malaysia, is envisioned to be the IT hub for AXA in Asia, and later to Japan. They will eventually stand as central hubs of actuarial expertise, serving as centers of excellence in areas of actuarial product pricing and valuation, providing guidance to the Asia entities in improving processes and services.

“We have massive ambitions for AXA in Asia,” shared Watson. “We want to leverage on the AXA brand—the number 1 in the world for 9 years now—and with the shared services hubs, we intend to achieve this by offering innovations in customer service.”

With up to 300 jobs expected to be generated, the shared services center is seen to be a boon to the growing business process outsourcing industry in the country, while strengthening AXA’s leadership position in the industry.

“The opening of this shared services center couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Rahul Hora, AXA Philippines chief executive officer. “We want to make one more mark in the AXA world and the BPO industry in the Philippines through IT transformation and enablement, thus doing our share in nation-building.”
