Handmade cosmetics company Lush has recently directed its Charity Pot campaign donations to local environmental protection organization Haribon Foundation.
Charity Pot campaign collects proceeds of the sales (minus taxes) of Charity Pot, a luxurious hand and body lotion from Lush, and allocates it towards supporting small grassroots organizations geared towards humanitarian efforts, animal protection, environmental conservation, and other worthy causes.
Local groups with the aforementioned initiatives, have no links to animal testing, and committed to non-violent action can apply to be recipients of the Charity Pot funding.
Lush Philippines chose to support Haribon Foundation’s tree planting activities. The organization aims to conserve natural habitats, save species, and encourage sustainability.
Haribon’s tree planting activities are part of the ROAD (Rainforest Organizations and Advocates) to 2020, which aims to restore one million hectares of Philippine rainforests using native tree species.
Lush Philippines and Lush Hong Kong pledged a total of 1,250 Makaasim seedlings, equivalent to one hectare of forest. Lush International retail manager Lauren Savage joined Lush’s local team, composed of staff and store managers, in the seedling planting activity at NPC Caliraya-Lumot Watershed in Cavinti, Laguna.
Lush Charity Pot is available in 45g at P295, 95g at P485, and 240g at P925.00
