The local government of Caloocan headed by Mayor Oscar Malapitan on Monday spearheaded the Children’s Congress that aimed to promote proper oral hygiene to achieve optimum dental health.
“Dental health is often neglected but in Caloocan, we want to instill its importance to the children, so they’ll grow up with adequate knowledge about it,” Malapitan said.
He added that good oral health “is a great factor in building a child’s confidence, so the local government is exerting effort to guide the children of Caloocan by providing information about dental health and conducting various activities to encourage children to practice good oral hygiene.”
This year’s congress was informative and fun-filled for all day care students in the city as Colgate also launched their Anti-Cavity Campaign during the event.
Caloocan is the only city in the country to initiate and continuously implement the Children’s Congress, which is attended by 400 to 600 children every year.
Bright A1 Child and Best in Toothbrushing Skills were two of the awards given during the event.
