PREPARING for high-level competitions is in the works for current Asia Mountain Bike Series champion Ariana Dormitorio, who is deep in training for this year’s World Championships and Asian Games.
She is leveling up her game after competing for two straight years and dominating the annual Asia MTB Series.
With the help of her father-coach Donjie, Dormitorio is finalizing plans to join races in two or three World Cups in Europe.
After that, and Dormitorio gets ready for the Asian Games in Palembang, Indonesia in August, before joining another big event in September–the World Championships in Switzerland.
For now, local races are up for Dormitorio, such as the 10-leg Asia Series.
Her first stint in Series will be in the Philippines, hosted by Timberland Homes in San Mateo, Rizal on March 9 to 11.
Opportunities to get to know her opponents in the Asiad comes when Dormitorio goes to the Asian MTB Championships set in Cebu this April.
Sports officials said a long-term training program has been designed Dormitorio by her father.
This will involve the development of power and skills, in accordance to the level of races that she will join.
