TRECE MARTIRES CITY—Cavite Governor Jesus Crispin ‘Boying’ Remulla has announced that the vehicle number coding scheme in the province will be fully implemented this month.
The traffic scheme’s implementing rules and regulations has been approved by the provincial board led by Vice Governor Ramon “Jolo” Revilla III. The provincial ordinance was authored by 1st District Board Member Gilbert Gandia, chair of committee on transportation and communications.
Provincial Ordinance 164 or the Number Coding Unified Vehicular Reduction System of Cavite Province aims to rid or solve traffic on major roads of the province.
Roads covered by the scheme are Aguinaldo Highway (from Zapote to the Dasmarinas-Silang boundary), Governor’s Drive (from Carmona to Trece Martires City-Tanza boundary), and Molino Boulevard (from Talaba, Bacoor to Paliparan Road, Dasmarinas City).
Under the revised IRR, vehicles covered by the travel ban are the private cars, vans and trucks, except those with PEZA (Philippine Economic Zone Authority) registration and stickers. Motorcycles are not included under the scheme.
Vehicles are banned on certain days based on the last digit of their conduction stickers or license plates — 1 and 2 on Monday, 3 and 4 on Tuesday, 5 and 6 on Wednesday, 7 and 8 on Thursday, 9 and 0 on Friday. The window hours are set from 10:01 a.m. to 2:59 p.m.
Meanwhile, in Imus City, the city treasury office here will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all Saturdays and Sundays this month to process realty and business tax payments.
Tax payers may pay their dues during the weekends of Jan. 6-7, 13-14, 20-21 and 27-28.
Imus Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi said the weekend schedules are for the convenience of the taxpayers.
The extra days, Maliksi said, will also help encourage his constituents pay their taxes before the deadline and prevent them from incurring penalties due to late payment.
To avoid paying interest, he reminded business owners and administrators to pay their business taxes, business permits and other regulatory fees for 2017 before Jan. 20 this year.
Owners and/or administrators of land, building, and machinery properties are also reminded to pay their real property taxes before March 31, 2018.
The city government provides incentives such as a 20-percent discount for real property taxes for calendar year 2018 that will be paid in full on or before Jan. 20, and a 10-percent discount if taxes are fully settled before March 31 this year.
A 10-percent discount is also provided for real estate taxes paid on or before the quarterly payment scheduled every 20th of January, April, July and October this year.
Also, the Department of Trade of Industry in Cavite is encouraging aspiring micro, small and medium enterprises to apply for new business name registration through the 16 Negosyo Center sites in the province.
The various NC sites also accept business name renewal at their DTI-Cavite office at the 2nd floor of the Government Center Building in Trece Martires City and various DTI NCs in the cities of Bacoor, Imus, General Trias, Cavite and Dasmariñas.
Business name applications are also accepted in the municipalities of Kawit, Ternate, Carmona, Mendez, Naic, General Mariano Alvarez, Amadeo, Maragondon and Noveleta.
DTI’s Negosyo Center is a one-stop shop for services that cater to the entrepreneurs’ needs in processing requirements necessary to establish a business and in accessing information essential for their growth.
The Go Negosyo Law, or RA 10644, mandates the creation of a Negosyo Center in all provinces, cities and municipalities.
DTI has partnered with 16 of Cavite’s eight cities and 16 municipalities in establishing local Negosyo Centers, where location is prioritized based on the town’s readiness to operate a center, and the number of existing and possible registrants especially the MSMEs in the area as added factors.
