With television networks not content with just terrestrial television as a platform to reach a wider audience, the major ones are exploring the possibilities of extending their reach through other platforms, the Internet in particular.
This year, GMA Network is trying to augment its existing online services via a YouTube channel and millennials should be happy to know that their favorite network, this 2018, unveils three online exclusive shows with Atom Araullo, Gabbi Garcia, and Joseph Morong.
Beginning today, netizens will be able to watch GMA ONE Online Exclusives on GMA’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/gmanetwork) featuring not just one, but three shows: Adulting with Atom Araullo, #Goals with Gabbi Garcia, and Fact or Fake with Joseph Morong.
In Adulting with Atom Araullo, the new GMA Public Affairs host joins millennials in their journey towards adulthood. Atom gives netizens a peek at his everyday struggles as he faces the responsibilities of being on his own, and living on a budget. And yes, Atom also shares tips on love: how does one go through courtship and online dating?
“We hope to talk about the different challenges we face as we enter the adult world,” says Atom in an interview. “Nobody teaches us these kinds of things. Sometimes we’re lucky to have friends or family to help us get into it painlessly but for the most part, nangangapa tayo sa ganiyan. Everything from finding your own place, budgeting your money, making career decisions, personal relationships, or taxes, things like these. I feel like a lot of people can relate to these challenges,” he added.
Meanwhile, get inspired by Millennial It Girl Gabbi Garcia’s videos as she shares her personal objectives in #Goals with Gabbi Garcia. A show that will definitely tickle the fancy of the kikays out there, #Goals with Gabbi Garcia sees Gabbi exploring her goals in beauty, style, makeup, travel, and music.
“We’re in a new age now where millennials appreciate digital content, they’re really into social media,” says Gabbi. “The show is very relatable to the youth because in #Goals, we will talk about makeup tutorials, new trends, how a typical teenager lives her life”.
Kapuso reporter Joseph Morong, on the other hand, debunks false news items in Fact or Fake with Joseph Morong. As more news sources are available online, Joseph will try to help millennials spot fake news.
“Fact or Fake goes back to one of the tenets of journalism which is fact-checking,” Joseph explains. “In the program, we’re going to define what fake news is as opposed to mistakes, misinformation, and disinformation. Bottom line is, we want to emphasize that in our society where there’s an overflow of information, it is important to be discerning.”
The GMA ONE Online Exclusives premieres 5 p.m. today and new episodes are uploaded every Monday.

NMPC was the lead media production arm of government in the pre- EDSA years. It also served as training ground for media practitioners especially in the broadcast industry.
I remember those days we held classes at its office/studios in Intramuros under Professor Evelyn C. David for our Broadcasting 101 (TV Production) classes. We used the NMPC facilities and equipment (lights, audio, and video, like microphones and cameras) and it taught us the basics of mounting TV productions. Well, it gives me a bit of nostalgic feeling.
I hope your reunion Nori would be a big success.

Olivia Bugayong, a third year dance student at De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, recently won the bronze medal in the senior category of the second Malaysian International Ballet Grand Prix.
The competition was divided into three stages — preliminary, eliminations and final. Participants were judged based on both classical repertoire (80 percent) and contemporary pieces (20 percent).
After the total score was accumulated, Bugayong was among the 10 finalists who got into the final round of her category. She eventually became the first Filipino who made it to the top three of the said competition.
The DLS-CSB scholar is grateful to dance faculty Nina Anonas, her coach for ballet who joined her in Malaysia; dance chair Christine Crame, her mentor for contemporary; and associate dean Dr. Sunita Mukhi for her support to the Benilde’s Arts and Culture Cluster.
The MIBGP organizers, witnessing the growth of ballet and the performing arts scene, worked with the HELP College of Art and Technology to launch the competition in 2016.
The event aims to provide opportunities for all dance enthusiasts globally, boost the status of dancing, build integrity and friendship among dance enthusiasts, and share the knowledge of ballet.
Bugayong started her classical ballet training when she was just three years old at the Vella C. Damian School of Ballet, Inc. where she learned the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet Syllabus under the tutelage of Damian herself.
The dance major previously won the gold medal at the 2016 Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition. The National Commission for Culture and the Arts named her one of its Ani ng Dangal awardees the following year for her achievement.
She performed the role of Black Swan in Crame’s contemporary choreography of Swan Lake with the Saint Benilde Romançon Dance Company and also played the part of Ina in Brillante Mendoza‘s Ang Pagtatapos aired on TV5 on April 22 last year.
