EXPECT San Miguel Beer to remain a top contender in the Philippine Basketball Association in the coming season.

After tapping prolific big man Christian Standhardinger in the PBA Draft several weeks ago, the Beermen made sure that their championship core will remain intact.

San Miguel re-signed veteran guard Marcio Lassiter over the weekend to ensure that it can continue being a force in the league.

Lassiter, who is an integral part of San Miguel in all its championships the past few seasons, was locked up by his mother club for three more years.

Details of the contract was undisclosed but it is assumed that Lassiter was given a sweet deal by San Miguel given his value to the team.

The 30-year-old sweet shooter will continue to team-up with Alex Cabagnot, Chris Ross, June Mar Fajardo and Arwind Santos to keep the star-studded starting five loaded.

With Lassiter’s return and Standhardinger’s looming entry midway in the season ahead, San Miguel remains a favorite in every tournament.

At the moment, the final roster spots available in the Beermen roster remain open.

Veterans Dennis Miranda, Mike Cortez, Billy Mamaril, Mark Isip as well as young cog Louie Vigil are fighting for two remaining slots in the team’s line-up.
