Grid operator National Grid Corp. of the Philippines asked the Energy Regulatory Commission to allow it to implement an additional capital expenditure for 2017 and beyond 2020 amounting to P62 billion.
NGCP said in an application to ERC the capex program would consist of 23 vital grid expansion and reliability projects.
“One of the core mandates of NGCP is to improve and expand its transmission facilities and to ensure and maintain the reliability, adequacy, security, stability and integrity of the nationwide electrical grid to guarantee that the grid meets: forecast demand, system reliability, demand market requirements and capacity of new generators,” it said.
Projects in Luzon include the upgrading Bohol transmission facilities (P986.56 million), Concepcion-Sta. Ignacia 69 kV transmission line project (P667.57 million), Marilao EVH substation project (P7.392 billion), San Simon 230 kV transmission line project (P2.318 billion) and Nagsaag-Tumana 69 kV transmission line project (P683.65 million).
Other Luzon projects lined up are the Tuy 500/230 kV substation project stage 1 (P8.454 billion), Pagbilao-Tayabas 500 kV transmission line project (P3.934 billion), Pinili 230 kV substation project (P1.631 billion), San Manuel-Nagsaag transmission line project (P1.873.52 million), Taguig-Taytay 230 kV transmission line project (P3.823 billion) and Tanauan 230 kV substation project (P2.493 billion).
