Global real estate website Lamudi recently partnered with the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) for The Outlook, a one-day conference to discuss the findings of a nationwide survey of 10,000 Filipino property-seekers.
To kick off on November 29 at the Marquis Events Place in Taguig, The Outlook will tackle crucial issues such as finding a collaborative solution to address the country’s housing backlog of approximately 6.9 million units, amidst the backdrop of households increasing by 435,000 each year.
“The event will gather the industry’s thought leaders for a day of discussion and knowledge sharing on what drives the real estate sector,” promised Lamudi’s managing director Bhavna Suresh Chathambeth.
The thought leaders will come from the industry’s major sectors—namely, top-level representatives from real estate players specializing in mixed-use or township developments; representatives from the design and innovation sector; and those from the residential and affordable housing segments.
“A looming lifting of the VAT suspension on low-cost housing and a reduced housing budget are two of the most pressing concerns that the sector needs to focus on,” observed SHDA national president Christopher Narciso.
“SHDA also aims to increase awareness on inclusive growth, which in essence is an important factor that will help us solve the housing backlog.”
