ABS-CBN brings programs to Africa

ABS-CBN Corpo. Said Thursday it signed a deal with  StarTimes, the leading digital TV operator across Sub-Saharan Africa to air the network’s drama programs.

The partnership covers the airing of more ABS-CBN series in the region in response to African viewers’ demand for more Filipino dramas.

“Despite the highly competitive global market, Africa has remained to be one of our constant and strongest territories,” Maria Cecilia Imperial, ABS-CBN officer-charge for integrated acquisitions and international sales and distribution.

“We look forward to an even wider presence for Filipino content in the region via the StarTimes platform,” she said.

ABS-CBN said it was looking forward to reach new audiences and touch the hearts of more African viewers through its heartfelt Filipino stories.

“Filipino stories are full of youthful romance, pure love, and also dramatic plots. They show how the young Asian people struggle with lives and how to love,”  StarTimes chairman Pang Xinxing said.
