A grandson of Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan is suffering from severe depression, his family said Tuesday, after learning of the recent killing of Horacio Castillo, a law student who died from hazing following a botched initiation.
The family of Robert Louis Pangilinan—a former fraternity member himself—has filed charges of attempted murder against 16 Tau Gamma Phi members, all currently enrolled at Adamson University, where Pangilinan is a third year Hospitality Management student and a member of the basketball team.
Robert was repeatedly threatened and bullied by the fratmen, who had recruited him in 2016 on promises that they would stop bullying him. He was depressed that he would meet the same fate as Castillo even if he had already left Tau Gamma Phi, the Pangilinans said.
