Ralph Trangia, who is among the primary suspects in the fatal hazing of University of Sto Tomas (UST) student Horacio Castillo III, has arrived in the Philippines.
Eva Air flight PR 271, the plane he boarded from Chicago via Taiwan, landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at 11:45 am on Tuesday.
Trangia was accompanied by his mother Rosemarie.
The suspect was surrounded by operatives of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) as he arrived at the airport.
He went through the procedures at the Bureau of Immigration's counter.
Trangia's lawyer was also on hand.
The suspect's counsel says, they will decide where to go next.
He won't divulge to newsmen where Trangia will stay in the meantime.
Trangia is not taking the offer of the Department of Justice (DOJ) for security although operatives of the Manila Police District and National Bureau of Investigation were also at the airport.
No warrant of arrest has been issued for Trangia so far.
Trangia is among the 17 persons facing cases of murder, robbery, obstruction of justice and violation of the Anti-Hazing Law following Castillo's death.
DOJ had earlier ordered the release of all suspects pending the investigation.
Trangia, a member of the Aegis Juris fraternity, allegedly drove Castillo to the Chinese General Hospital on Sunday, September 17, 2017.
Castillo was declared dead on arrival at the hospital at 9:21 am.
Trangia's father Antonio was the registered owner of red Strada pickup Ralph had used to bring Castillo to the hospital.
The younger Trangia left the country for the United States last September 21.
