WORLD Gymkhana champion Milo Rivera came out victorious in a five-way fight during the ninth leg of the Phoenix National Slalom Series of the Race Motorsports Club at the NFA Compound in Cabanatuan City.
Rivera of Tough Gear Racing Team bagged the overall and production best time for his ninth straight win with a time of 43.70 after a tight battle with Carlos Anton of Mark Young Racing Team and Cars Unlimited (43.82) and Jevoy Moreno (43.94) of JAF Racing Team.
Inigo Anton (44.22) and Estefano Rivera (44.54) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
Meanwhile, Carlos Anton brought home the Front Wheel Best time and son Inigo Anton took the novice best clocking.
The 2017 Race Motorsports Club National Slalom Series is presented by Phoenix Premium 98 and Phoenix Accelerate Fully Synthetic Oil, and major sponsors Federal Tyres and Outlast Battery and supported by Starbright Body Kits, Auto Transporter, Cars Unlimited Auto Sales Fairview and Mark Young Cars. It is also backed by media partners Stoplight TV, C! Magazine, Auto Car Magazine, Power Wheels Magazine, Ride and Drive Philippines and Driven2ride.ph.
The event was also supported by Mayor Jay Vergara, Eugene Mintu, who provided a top-of-the-line Ambulance and Rescue Team, Michael Mendoza and Joey Vergara. Winners were awarded right after the slalom race at the Pig Stop Bar and Grill owned by Daryl Flores and Mikko Briones.
The event was participated in by the JAF Racing Team, Tough Gear Racing Team, Autofastion Racing Team, Speedjav Racing Team, Kajega Racing Team, Mark Young Cars, Cabanatuan Auto Club, Rod and Lea Racing Team and Jemag Racing Team, among others.
The 2017 remaining legs for the year are on Oct. 1 at Robinsons Novaliches; Nov. 12 at Tarlac Circuit Hill; Dec. 10 at Robinsons Starmills Pampanga and the Slalom Invitational on Oct. 8 at Robinsons Calasiao Pangasinan.
