NHA Builders vow to bounce back

“NEXT time, babawi kami.”

This was the promise of NHA Builders Head Coach Silverio “Bennet” Palad III after his team lost to the Malacañang-PSC Kamao last Sept. 17.

Towards the end of the game against the Kamao, the Builders were complacent on both ends, allowing the Kamao to clinch the lead and the win, 92-90.

“Nagkumpiyansya kami, ang momentum napunta na sa kanila. Bago kami naka-recover, wala na, too late na,”Palad recalled.

NHA’s Marvin Ladia (18) steals the ball from Malacañang-PSC Kamao’s John Michael Jimenez (55) during their UNTV Cup game at the Pasig Sports Center.

That is why for Coach Palad, gearing up mentally is far more important than physical preparation this time as they face the PDEA Drug Busters on Wednesday at 2 p.m.

“Ang preparation ko para sa next game, siguro, mentally na muna. Siguro ipapaalam ko lang sa kanila how to protect the ball,” Palad said.

Both the Builders and the Drug Busters have a loss and no win.

The UNTV Cup crowd can also expect an adamant PDEA team, led by former professional basketball players big man Marlon Basco and guard Robert Sanz.

Also slated today are the matchups of DOJ Justice Boosters and Department of Agriculture Food Masters in the second game at 3:30 p.m. and the 5 p.m. setto between the PNP Responders and the DOH Health Achievers.
