Two witnesses in the fatal hazing of University of Sto Tomas (UST) law student Horacio Castillo III have gone to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to seek help.
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre says, one of the witnesses is a member of Aegies Juris fraternity that conducted the initiation rites that reportedly killed Castillo.
Aguirre notes, the two persons are familiar with the hazing activities of the fraternity.
The witnesses reportedly told Aguirre that they fear for their lives so they went straight to the DOJ.
The Justice Secretary has turned over the witnesses to the National Bureau of Investigation.
Justice Undersecretary Erickson Balmes said persons who will shed light on how Castillo died may be placed under the DOJ's Witness Protection Program (WPP).
