Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Senior's remains have been buried in Ozamiz City.
He was laid to rest on Wednesday morning at his family's mausoleum in Mt. Malindang Memorial Gardens located in Barangay Bagacay.
The cemetery is about 5 kilometers from the city center.
Also buried along with the slain mayor was his wife Susan, brother and Misamis Occidental Provincial Board Member Otavio and sister Mona.
The four were among the 16 persons killed during a drug raid in the homes of the Parojinogs in Barangay Sta. Cruz last July 30, 2017.
Hundreds of relatives, city hall employees and supporters of the Parojinogs joined the funeral procession.
From San Roque basketball court where the wakes were held for two weeks, the remains of the Parojinogs were first brought to the Immaculate Conception Cathedral for a requiem mass.
During the eulogy, messages of thanks to all those who attended were read.
The messages came from the mayor's detained children, Ozamiz Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog and Reynaldo Jr.
Nova Princess and Reynaldo were not allowed by Ozamiz Regional Trial Court to attend the burial.
The two are facing several criminal charges, including illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions, as well possession of illegal drugs.
