Amid the bloody war on narcotics, Congressman Ace Barbers (2nd, left) , chairman of the House panel on dangerous drugs, presided over a public hearing on Aug. 10, 2017 where an intel report linked Catanduanes Gov. Joseph Cua to a ‘mega shabu’ laboratory operating in his province. The intel report dated Nov. 26, 2016 was issued by the Police Regional Office 5. Cua’s alleged role in the illegal drugs trade was also revealed by former Dangerous Drugs Board chairman Dionisio Santiago, now PDEA chief, during the Balitaan sa Rembrandt news forum on July 27, 2017 in Quezon City.
