BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya—The Department of Health has funded the construction and improvement of health centers in this town to provide more health services and bring them closer to the villagers.
Dr. Edwin Galapon, Provincial Integrated Health officer, said the DoH recently inaugurated a P1.4-million health center in Barangay Almaguer South and the on-going construction of health centers in Barangay Pallas (worth P2.4 million), Barangay San Antonio South (P1.2 million), Barangay Sto. Domingo Proper (P1.2 million) and Barangay San Leonardo (P1.9 million), all in this town.
“The health centers were funded by the DoH’s Philippine Health Enhancement Program. Some of these health centers will have birthing clinics,” he said.
The DoH also allotted P2 million for the expansion of this town’s Municipal Health Center under the PHEP, Galapon added.
PHEP aims to fund the construction of additional health facilities and improvement of existing ones to provide basic health services in rural areas.
