Rival networks claim shows did better

‘A Love To Last’ hits new all-time high rating with much-awaited TonDeng wedding.

Viewers nationwide tuned in to the highly anticipated wedding of Anton (Ian Veneracion) and Andeng (Bea Alonzo) as the episode hit a new all-time high national TV rating for A Love to Last on June 16 and generated buzz online.

The kilig moments in the so-called wedding of a lifetime scored 24.3 percent nationwide from combined urban and rural homes compared to its rival program, which only recorded 12.8 percent, according to data from Kantar Media.

The show’s official hashtag that night #ALTLTheWedding also topped the trending topics on Twitter as netizens expressed how Anton and Andeng’s love for each other touched and inspired them.

As the story continues, watch out for the other half of the wedding as well as their reception and honeymoon. What other challenges will Anton and Andeng face as newlyweds?

ABS-CBN’s highly anticipated epic saga series La Luna Sangre instantly impressed viewers as the action-romance teleserye with Angel Locsin, John Lloyd Cruz, Richard Gutierrez, Kathryn Bernardo, and Daniel Padilla scored high in national TV ratings on June 19 and trended online worldwide. 

Viewers warmly welcomed the series into their homes as it reaped a national TV rating of 33.9 perecent from combined urban and rural homes, more than double the rating of My Love from the Star (13.8 percent), according to the data from Kantar Media.

The episode’s official hashtag #LaLunaSangreAngSimula trended on Twitter worldwide as fans shared positive feedback about the show’s top-caliber production. Angel, Mateo (John Lloyd’s character), and Tristan (Daniel), played by Justin James Quilantang, also trended on Twitter nationwide.  

The pilot episode offered a glimpse into the lives of the Lia (Angel) and Mateo (John Lloyd Cruz), who both settled to live a peaceful life for their daughter after their powers vanished. But a looming danger awaits the world of men, vampires, and werewolves as Sandrino (Richard) plans to control and destruct their peaceful lives. 

What will happen to Lia and Mateo after the appearance of the Blood Moon? Will they be able to experience the simple life they wish for?

Two of GMA Network’s biggest primetime series this 2017, Mulawin vs. Ravena and My Love From The Star, earned spots in the top ten most-buzzed-about shows worldwide according to a New York-based international media business website.

WorldScreen.com released their Social Wit List for May 2017 where the sequel Mulawin Vs. Ravena ranked third and the network’s local adaptation of the Koreanovela My Love From The Star ranked fifth in the list of top 10 new shows with the most number of Facebook and Twitter comments during their premiere across the globe.

According to the site, Mulawin Vs. Ravena’s premiere “drew around 104,000 comments, and there was much buzz about the #GreatCast and #Cinematography that had many viewers honoring the #Nostalgia and #GoodMemories it brought about: #KudosForTheFlashbacks.”

On the other hand, My Love From the Star had around 50,000 comments and was marked with the hashtags #KudosToJennylynMercado, #FunPlot, and #GoodDirection.

The two GMA-produced series are the only dramas from the Philippines that made it to the list, topping over popular global productions, which included ones from the U.S. and France.

Meanwhile, the other programs included in the list are U.S.A.’s Dirty Dancing, Twin Peaks, Beat Shazam, Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland, World of Dance; France’s Emmanuel Macron, Baisers caches; and U.K.’s Three Girls.
