It would have been just another launch, but the guys over at Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation spiced its reveal of the new QLED TV at Okada Manila recently.
What did they do to make Manilans’ gaga and wanted to attend the launch?
The company flew in Kim Soo Hyun to Manila to be the special guest of the launch.
The 29-year-old Korean actor made millions of Filipino hearts a flutter when the soap operas Dream High, Moon Embracing the Sun, My Love from the Star and The Producers, as well as the movies The Thieves and Secretly were shown on local TV stations or on streaming websites.
When he was introduced by the emcee, the room temperature in Okada, which by then was packed with blogger-fans and some journalist-fans as well, shot up to around 30 degrees Centigrade from around 22 degrees. And when he finally stepped on the podium, phone cameras (along with the professional cameras) clicked endlessly to capture the face of the star (who doesn’t speak a word of English or Tagalog, the kids said, “Never mind, he’s cute anyway.”
The actor (with the help of an interpreter) expressed his excitement to be in town for the launch of the product that aims to give consumers a viewing experience like no other.
Watching TV has changed through the years and is now more central in the lives of consumers. From being a mere source of entertainment, TVs are now considered as windows that let users experience the world right from their homes.
In a gathering held at Okada Manila titled “The Next Frontier,” Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation declared a new era of television viewing as it officially launched the QLED TV in the country. Hosted by TV personality and radio jock Sam Oh, the event brought together Samsung executives, led by President Kevin Lee, media, and valued dealer-partners as they witnessed how the QLED TV delivers a next generation display that overcomes the disadvantages of other competing technologies.
The new line-up of the QLED TV is available in authorized Samsung dealers nationwide. For more details, visit the Samsung Facebook page or log on to samsung.com/ph.
