Detained businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles, who is reportedly behind at P 10-billion pork barrel scam, has left the Sandiganbayan in Quezon City.
She and her security convoy, led by operatives from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and Bureau of Corrections, left the Sandiganbayan at 11:33 am on Wednesday.
Napoles attended a hearing on the plunder case filed against her.
She is now being brought back to the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City.
Through her lawyer, Napoles is asking the Department of Justice (DOJ) to allow her to be transferred to the detention cell of the National Bureau of Investigation.
Their camp believes, the Correction Institution for Women is only for women who have been convicted in court.
Napoles wore a casual attire during the hearing at the Sandiganbayan and was visibly happy, waving to news teams that were covering her arrival.
She used to wear a uniform for detainees during the past hearings.
In Malacañang, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella says, the idea of turning Napoles into a state witness was not discussed during the cabinet meeting on Monday.
Two days ago, the Court of Appeals acquitted Napoles from serious illegal detention case filed by pork scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.
