FEU puts 3-game streak on the line

THE 2017 MBL Open basketball tournament resumes today with three action-packed matches showcasing some of the best young talents at the EAC Sports Center.

Defending champion FEU-NRMF-Gerry's Grill puts its three-game winning streak on the line against former NCAA champion Philippine Christian University in the mainer at 7:30 p.m.

Former MBL champion Diliman College-JPA Logistics makes its debut against Emilio Aguinaldo College at 4:30 p.m., while Colegio de San Lorenzo-V Hotel collides with Victoria Sports-MLQU at 6 p.m. 

Fil-German standout Glen Gravengard,  former MBL MVP Clay Crellin and ex-PBA star Jerwin Gaco will banner FEU's bid for a fourth straight win in the eight-team tournament supported by Smart Sports, Ironcon Builders, Star Bread, Dickies Underwear and Gerry's Grill.

Gravengard, the 6'1” sensation from University of British Columbia Thunderbirds in Canada, averaged 15 points a game in the three victories of the Fairview-based Tamaraws of manager Nino Reyes and coach Pido Jarencio.

Also providing ample scoring support are Crellin and Gaco, who led FEU to its first MBL title  over EAC last December; and Erwin Sta. Maria, Raniel Jake Diwa abd Dexter Zamora.

Jon Von Tambeling,  Yves Sazon and Mike Ayonayon will lead the Dolphins of PCU president Dr. Junifen Gauuan, ISPEC head Dr. Putli Martha Ijiran and coaches Ato and Elvis Tolentino.

4:30 p.m. — EAC vs. Diliman

6 p.m. – CdSL-V Hotel vs. Victoria Sports

7:30 p.m. — FEU vs. PCU
