This is what remains of a condemned classroom building at Macasandig Elementary School in Cagayan de Oro City, which SM Foundation has promised to replace with a two-story, four-classroom structure in time for the opening of classes this year. Juris Soliman-Umali, SM consultant for Corporate Affairs and SM Foundationís head for its School Building program, recently joined Engineer Jeff Paulo Villanueva, DepEd Cagayan de Oro's Dr. Jean Loquillano, school PTA head Roger Lacsi, Barangay Macasandig Capt. Bong Edrote, and school principal Rosemarie Dullente in inspecting the site, which was cleared with the help of the Philippine Armyís 52nd Engineering Brigade.
