Standard Chartered Bank Philippines employees together with their CEO and country head Lynette Ortiz, recently took time off from their ostensibly stressful banking chores to perform at the Vagina Monologues alongside stage thespians and women’s rights advocates Monique Wilson and Thea Tadiar. SCB Philippines sponsored the episodic play written by Eve Ensler in celebration of International Women’s Month. The play, which was based on Ensler’s interviews with different women on feminine experiences, celebrates women empowerment. The play was a benefit performance for SCB’s global programme Seeing is Believing and also in support of Lila Filipina, an organization of Filipino comfort women, victims and survivors of rape during the WWII and One Billion Rising, a movement to end violence against women.  Said Ortiz:  “The show was a demonstration of female power at its best. We are proud of the cast for courageously putting themselves out there for our cause and for each other, reading aloud some of the most thought-provoking and controversial issues that beset women.”
