EVERYTHING is all set as RACE Motorsports Club opens the 12-leg Phoenix National Slalom Series 2017 on Sunday in Robinsons Novaliches.
Powered by Phoenix Premium 98 and Phoenix Accelerate fully synthetic oil, the slalom event will have its registration from 8 a.m. onwards.
Open practice runs are set from 8 to 10 a.m., while official practice sessions start at 11 a.m., with each participant given only one official practice run regardless of how many classes or cars entered.
Each participant will receive a gallon of Phoenix Accelerate fully synthetic oil.
Contenders must use the specified Federal Tyres for at least nine or 75% of the series and possess the Automobile Association of the Philippines Clubman license in order to accumulate points for the overall and class champions. Drivers will be charged an additional fee of P300 per leg for the AAP Clubman License.
The National Slalom Events are affiliated with the AAP and FIA and is the longest-running motorsport discipline in the country.
Expected to participate are the Club Slalom Series champions, headed by Milo, Noel and Estefano Rivera of Tough Gear, Dr. Peewee Mendiola of Team Big Chill, MSM Motorsports and AF Racing Team.
Aside from the National Slalom Series, RACE Motorsports will also hold three Invitational Slalom legs at Robinsons Calasiao, Pangasinan to cater to car enthusiasts from the north.
The Slalom Series is presented by Phoenix Premium 98 and Phoenix Accelerate fully synthetic oil, major sponsors Federal Tyres, Outlast Battery, and Robinsons Novaliches and supported by Starbright Body Kits, Auto Transporter, media partners Stoplight TV, C! Magazine, Auto Car Magazine, Power Wheels Magazine, Ride and Drive Philippines and Driven2ride.ph.
The schedule for the year is as follows: March 12, Robinsons Novaliches; April 2 Robinsons Starmills; May 7 NFA Compound, Cabanatuan City; June 4 Robinsons Sta. Rosa; June 25 Robinsons Novaliches; July 19 Robinsons Starmills; August 6 Robinsons Antipolo; August 27 Malolos Commercial Center; September 10 NFA Compound, Cabanatuan City; October 1 Robinsons Novaliches; November 12 Robinsons Antipolo/Meycauayan Center; December 3 Robinsons Starmills.
The Slalom Invitationals are set April 23, August 20 and October 1 at Robinsons Calasiao, Pangasinan.
