FIVE students of Bestlink College of the Philippines have filed a P10-million damage suit before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court against the school management, Panda Coach and Harana Tourist Bus firms in connection with a fatal road mishap in Tanay, Rizal in February.
On behalf of the five survivors, all first-year college students, their parents were accompanied by lawyers Ariel Inton, Rolando Sibal and Victor Rodriguez of the Lawyers for Commuters Safety and Protection in the filing of the civil suit.
One of the student-complainants, Mark Barcelona, is still confined at the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Marikina City due to liver injury caused by the bus crash. The class suit was raffled off to Branch 105.
At least 13 students, a teacher and the bus driver were killed in the road mishap.
