Malacañang has issued Memorandum Circular 13 instructing all government agencies to support the Miss Universe Pageant which the Philippines is hosting this month.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed the memorandum.
The order states that “all heads of departments, bureaus, offices and agencies of government are enjoined to extend full support for the holding of the pageant, in coodination with the Department of Tourism (DOT).”
Medialdea says, the event “will bring international prestige, publicity, goodwill and economic benefits for the country and it will be a great opportunity for the Philippines to show to the world the country’s natural attractions, modern infrastructure facilities and above all, the warmth of the Filipino people.”
The Palace also reiterates, “the Pageant is organized by the private sector, in coordination with the DOT.”
The coronation ceremony will be held at SM Mall of Asia Arena on January 30 at 8 am.
