Ex-pro Victoria faces new challenge

THESE days, former Philippine Basketball Association player and coach Emmanuel “Boybits” Victoria is facing a different career and a different challenge.

This time, Victoria is introducing what is considered as the world’s biggest indoor sports club to people who are looking for a place to live and pursue an active lifestyle at the same time.

The facility, known at the Victoria Sports Tower, is set to be completed within the next three months, aiming to be a one-stop training facility for enthusiasts and athletes alike.

“It’s a challenge. It’s a different challenge from wearing shorts to wearing corporate clothes. But I’m up to challenge,” said the 44-year-old Victoria, who is currently the sales manager of the facility, which incidentally carries his family name.

VST, which is located along EDSA in South Triangle, Quezon City,  has a 50-meter Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool, six private gyms and a wellness facility.

It is a project of businessman and developer Jerry Acuzar and his company New San Jose Builders.

The offering comes on the 30th anniversary of their presence in the construction industry.

“This is a sports membership club catering to all kinds of sports disciplines, including shooting, indoor sports and different ballgames, racquet sports and swimming. And there’s also fitness,” said club manager Cesar Villanueva.

The 45-storey twin tower residential condominium has five floors that are currently in development.

It also has a basketball court,  multipurpose gyms for fencing and gymnastics.

They will also make facilities available for mixed martial arts and for games in tennis, badminton and squash.

A 100-m track is also under development for triathletes and runners.
