Enzo Pineda has officially left the Kapuso Network, his home studio since he graduated from reality-based artista-search Starstruck in 2010.
It can be recalled that Enzo did not renew his contract with GMA’s Artist Center, the network’s own talent management company back in August, which fueled rumors that he’s already decided to cut his ties with GMA 7. But does he have a solid contract with his new home studio?
Regardless of the answer, Enzo seems to have made a sound career move based on the initial response of the viewers who saw him in Till I Met You on Wednesday.
Viewers where surprised that the 26-year-old actor was introduced as the newest cast member of the romantic series top billed by James Reid and Nadine Lustre. In the primetime drama, Enzo plays the character of Stephen, a race car driver and will be seen more often with Ali (JC Santos), a closeted gay man.
Shortly after his debut in the drama program, he posted a photo on Instagram.
“Vroom! Vroom! Thanks for the warm welcome. I’m so excited for everybody to learn more about Stephen in ‘Till I Met You,” he wrote as caption for his photo while taping on a race track.
“Well, my dad told me why your dad wanted me to hang out with you. And actually, I think we have something in common,” this was the response of Stephen when Ali apologized to the first. He’s under the impression that his dad was disturbing Stephen just to accompany him. And if we are to read between the lines, we would know what role Stephen is going to play in the weeknight drama.
According to ABS-CBN PR wire, Stephen’s inclusion in the story will be a sub plot to Iris and Basti learning the ropes of married life. The character is a general’s son that is tasked to turn Ali straight.
Apart from Till I Met You, Enzo will star in an upcoming Star Cinema film, Extra Service, which stars Coleen Garcia, Jessy Mendiola, and another former Kapuso, Arci Muñoz.
Enzo is now under the roof of Arnold Vegafria’s ALV Talent Circuit – the same agency managing the careers of Iya Villania, Nikki Gil, John Prats, Carla Abellana, and Billy Crawford, among others.
