FOREIGN Minister Julie Bishop recently announced the opening of the second round of the Business Partnerships Platform, a flagship initiative of the Australian government that taps the private sector in delivering Australia’s aid program.
The Australian government is calling for BPP project proposals from the private sector in the priority areas of gender equality/women’s economic empowerment, micro and small enterprise development, trade development and technical and vocational training in the Philippines.
Interested Australian, international and global businesses, NGOs and other organizations are encouraged to apply to the second round, which is expected to be worth around A$81.9 million (P2.78n billion) until Oct. 7.
The Australian Government’s aid program aims to solve complex development challenges in frontier and emerging markets, promoting Australia’s interests by contributing to sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction across priority sectors.
