A piece of Switzerland in Manila

Experience a piece of Switzerland as Marco Polo Ortigas Manila holds a weeklong celebration of Swiss chocolates, cheese and more at All Things Swiss from Aug. 19 to Sept. 4.

Celebrating the 725th National Swiss Day is the hotel’s very own Swiss promotion, highlighting Swiss traditions from wine and cheese to praline making and to watchmaking. Launching this is the Swiss Military Band, blaring of trumpets and horns to mark the start of the celebration today at the Grand Ballroom of the only sky hotel in Manila.  The band consists of 14 talented musicians. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and the Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General André Blattman arranged their coming to Manila for the third leg of their Asian tour, from Seoul, Beijing, and on to Singapore as they perform anthems and traditional music in various Swiss celebrations.
